Masterson’s Lounge, positioned in the vibrant core of Moonee Ponds, markets itself as a trendy “hipster” hangout , but my recent visit at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I discovered behind its walls was appalling and beyond comprehension .
The State of Affairs: Filthy and Neglected Beyond Belief
From the moment I entered , it was clear that hygiene was not a priority at this venue. The floors were sticky , and a pungent odor of stale beer and neglected washrooms filled the entire venue . Reeking of a mixture of urine , a rotting odor and illness . The serving zone , which should be the primary feature of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and litter that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The toilet was in even a truly awful state— backed up, with a broken handle and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was human excrement .
